The story continues! In 2012 Dubble doubled its appeal by introducing a delicious new chunky white chocolate bar, with the help of Ant & Dec and Dennis & Gnasher in a 'Choc Idol' BeanoMax special.
It also meant another Fairtrade first for Dubble - it became the only Fairtrade product to be a year-round fundraiser for Comic Relief, with a 2p donation from every bar sold going to Comic Relief all year round .… dubbly good!
So many other partners and friends joined in on the Dubble adventure and you can find out more about these fantastic friendships here.
After nearly 14 years of blazing a trail for Fairtrade, quite often being the only Fairtrade product in the shop and certainly on the countline bar choc-shelf, Dubble called it a wrap in May 2014. Dubble has sold over 11,000,000 bars (that's over 240 tonnes of cocoa beans!) and contributed over £100,000 in Fairtrade contributions and farmer development funds. Wow!
What's more, Dubble has contributed massively to changing hearts and minds about the way that chocolate companies can trade and now this year 21% of the UK chocolate market is Fairtrade certified. This is fantastic news for farmers and testimony to the imagination, creativity and persistence of you Dubble Agents - job well done as you really have made a huge difference! Thankyou!
The Dubble legacy lives on in the inspirational PaPaPaa Fairtrade education project so find out what the PaPaPaa children in Ghana think about life in a cocoa farming village and all sorts of other topics here - a new video is made and posted by them every month!
