CHUNK 4 - A BAR IS BORN
We asked thousands of young people in the UK if they would like their very own Fairtrade chocolate bar.
The answer was a massive YES and so the idea for Dubble chocolate bar was born! We launched a Chocolate Challenge on Children’s BBC for young people to design a new wrapper for a fairly traded chocolate bar. The overall winnerWe received an amazing 16,203 entries and from these we had the hard task of choosing a winner., Gracie Hadley – travelled out to Ghana to meet the cocoa farmers who grow the cocoa for Dubble – what a prize!
We used these designs as inspiration to come up with the name and look for Dubble. The Dubble bar was born in 2000. Since it was launched over 10 million Dubble bars have been sold and the Dubble family has also hatched an Easter egg and mini-eggs.
